Whit or Whit out you

Hey Guys,
Its now the new year here and well you guys are busy just gettin your game on now im sure of it. Anyways i rang it in last night with a bunch of irish guys and it was just another night at a bar but you had to ay 20 bucks to get in. And allen the irish guy destroyed my hat, which sucked cuz it was a nice hat. Anyways last few days have beeeeen amazing.
I embarked on a sailing voyage for 3 days and 2 nights out on the sea around the whitsunday islands. We started out in overcast skys but it was wicked cuz the wind was absolutely ripping. so we were right over on our side and clipping through the waves an absolute treat to sit on the edge and relax in tropical islands.
Our Boat was the Apollo, a former racing boat though it never raced the americas cup like some of the other boats it was an absolute delight to take her for a spin. we had about 10 passengers on and 3 crew. We had 4 irish, 1 aussie, 2 swiss, 2 koreans, and me the canadian oh and an older couple 2 pommes. Everyone was pretty cool on the boat and lots of good stories were told around the boat and a few bad jokes mostly by the one crew and the swiss guy who we think might be on the other team, hes rather interesting to say the least.
The first day we just riped up some waves and headed to a snorkelling site, the water was a little merky so you had to swim down close for a good view but plenty of coral and colours to go around and a few cool fish to boot as well.
We then headed for an inlet were we stopped for the night and got the drink on, I spent some time talking to the older pommes who live such a cool life, they themselves have there own boat and live in spain where they sail for 3 months of the year and whenever they want after that. Pretty cool if you ask me.
The Irish were up to the task this night as they had 30 cans each for the 2 nights, and me being an idiot brought goon, (box of wine) as i asked the lady what most people drink on these trips she told me to get goon. sure enough im the only one who brought goon and loked like an idiot infront of these irish fellas. typical.
The next day we embarked out again to the whithaven island, where the sand is 99.8% pure white silica, you can literally make it straight into glass. We went out to the main lookouts where you can see the islands and the blue water over the area, absolutely gorgeous. We then walked down to the beach where you have to wear stinger suits, infact anytime you go in you have to wear a stinger suit personally i dont feel comfortable in tights but when in rome i guess huh? We also played some cricket on the beach with some pretty make shift bat and ball. but i did manage to do some great balling, i got johnno one of the irish lads a whicket before he even had a run, which they cal a duck, sooo basically im awesome.
We then went for a snorkel in this protected area right off an island, which was by far the best snorkel i have done, amazing corals, colours, and fish, even saw me a couple nemos chillin in anemones. Saw a brain coral about the size of a car as well. absolutely wicked. and the visibility here was impecible.
We then sailed on back to another inlet for the night and today the irish guys started feeding me beers. We came up with nick names for everyone on the boat and got into it. the Swiss guy who is somewaht on the other side of the fence was tam, which didnt take me long to turn it into tammy aha was alot of fun he got alot of heckling from the lot of us. We faded pretty early in the night as the wind and weather drains you and well the nights are short here.
Next morning we arose and sailed back to airley beach though the wind was lacking so we had the engine on the entire way. And the sun nearly baked us so was a sort of sad way to end the trip as we couldnt tear it up. but someday would enjoy to go sailing some more a very nice lifestyle it is.
We then came back and played another game of cricket on the beach around the lagoon. and then got ready for new years.
Hope all is well with you guys back home and Ill see some of you in 27 days.
Cheers and Stay precious

Maybe the dingo ate your baby

So folks unfortunately im having trouble with the loading of pictures right now so youll just be stuck reading for the time being.

I would first like to wish you all a merry christmas, mine was fairly uneventful as i got off the bus in a random town hoping to see some sea turtles laying eggs on the beach and some babies making there way down to the sea after hatching, but being christmas they werent running any tours so i basically just chilled out at a hostel. So christmas took place with a pig roast, lamb roast at the hostel and i read some of my book. yes not to exciting, ohh and i had some noodles for dinner from the local yummy noodle shop, and it was the only place open in town.

So a few days ago i took part in a self drive tour of fraser island, which was absolutely awesome. Basically we cram 9 people into a 4x4 van style jeep thing, and drive all over the freaking place. thankfully we had a good group and everyone got along, though some of the other groups had some idiots. One night a group woke up and meat was all over there tents and dingos were rampant. not a cool joke on this island as these things will attack.
Anyways, my group consisted of 4 canucks, 2 danes, 2 germans and a pommy. So we had some good times im not good with names so i designated the people whos names i couldnt remember into teams, which was only team germany.
Fraser island is the largest sand island in the world and has several fresh water lakes which is weird because it stretches out way into the ocean, well infact its surrounded by ocean and being all sand you would think it would have salt water. anyways this water is so fresh and clean you can drink while you swim. so long as you didnt just pee ofcourse, just saying....
there are many cool features out on this island, indian heads the rock formation which caused the island looks out over the ocean and on good days you can see tiger sharks in the waters but alas we saw nothing but jellys. We arent aloud to swim in the ocean around the island at all as it is a major tiger shark breeding area so that was cool.
There was also the Champaign pools which are right along the oceanand when a big wave comes in it bubbles over the rocks into these pools where you are and it feels like you were in champaign so that was pretty neat.
There were also Lake waby and lake mackenzie which were fresh water lakes in the middle of the island, waby is about to get filled in by a sand dune that is slowly working its way across the islad but its great to sand board into, though we also saw alot of people eat it in the process one guy jumped with the board and landed on his face like 3 times in a row, i quite enjoyed that.

The driving over here on the island was like nothing i have seen before, it was definately 4x4 and i would say it was almost like driving through snow in parts as the sand was so loose. So uh yeah ill try and get some pictures up at some point but no promises.
Cheeers, and stay precious

Hello Brisvegas

Hello everyone,
The last week or so i have been living around Brisbane, quite a nice city, and for 4 glorious nights i lived on the premisis of Andy Kilmer and his roomies. Well as those of you who know Mr. Kilmer hes a fun guy to hang around. He also had a family friend from Canada over at the same time as me, so we spent some time together checking things out as kilmer is very busy being he leaves australia tommorow after being here 11 months.

The first day we headed to the legendary Steve Irwins Australia zoo, it took us nearly 2 hours on train and bus to get up there but it was totally worth it and the 60 bucks in which it costs to get up there and inside, this place is a great zoo as it is the perfect size you see just enough in the day, as well we got to see the croc feedings which were wicked bad. So we had a solid day out there. Lots of exciting animals and shows going on, infact Matt the canadian i was with happened to make a fool of himself infront of everyone there as they were trying to get the birds to land on his arm and shreak like a bird himself then they released homing pigeons instead of actual parrots and hawks, pretty funny infront of like 400 people. We then headed back into brisvegas and decided to grab some dinner as kilmer was out all day seeing people off. After dinner we headed to the bottle shop to stock up for a few days. Were Matt went into this bar just behind the shop he found this great band playing so we decided to go in for a pint. Leaving our paid for case of beer back in the fridge from where it came. We shot up a little pool before this girl who was watching from the side decided that she was drunk enough to shoot pool and so i let her step in and take a few shots. She ended up taking out like 2 balls and from that point on was our best friend. She ended up taking our ears off, Genie was her name too by the way. Eventually ive had enough drinks and head to the loo. Where genie is following me and i dont know where im going so as im on my way shes saying go left go left im completely oblivious at this point not a clue.. so i look left and no sign of mens room thankfully on the right there it is, so i head in. Next thing i know she sticks her head in and utters im not going in there. And thats when it hit me ahha man never in my life has anything quite like that happened. I think it must have been the hat i bought earlier that day but it will go on a mistery to the end of time. But i mean really it doesnt say much for her it wasnt even 9 30pm i was completely dumb struck. Anyways she didnt come in and thank the freaking lord she was probably late 20s early 30s not bad looking but washrooms really arent my style and neither are randoms. But never the less good for the confidence so i got that going for me. really no big deal aha

Next couple days we chill out around Kilmers nothing to big going on then Saturday we had a shindig for our main man Kilmer as he heads back to Canada after a lengthy run over here so about 40 people show up at his place and we get into the sauce. There were a few presentations of gifts from friends of his and some awkward comments from a German and then we got down to the main event. Flip Cup.
I drew a 1 so i was designated to a team of 6 drinkers and we absolutely destroyed our opponents a clean 5-0 and our last round was clean simple chug and one flip it was over before they had 2 flipped. Pretty big deal. We then head down to the local pub which im told only Kilmer actually likes called the Normanby for some more festivities. We didnt manage to get home until about 5am i think but the sun was on the rise so the next day was spent sleeping and watching movies.
I think thats pretty much all my activities as of late pictures to come but this comp is lame.

Cheers and stay precious

Me in a nut shell

Hello all, been a couple days since the last update but still lots going on.

following my drinking adventures in Byron bay, i went on a snorkel out near this island which we use as a base and work around, it also cuts down the waves and blocks a bit of the current out there, well it was absolutely spectacular, not many corals down there to be honest but just hopping with creatures. The island is in the center of the above picture

I managed to swim with about2 or 3 sea turtles which really didnt mind you being around them it was pretty cool, they were just swimmin around and having a good feed on the jellyfish out there which was super cool. Next i ran into a few sharks, just little bottom feeder guys, not really sure what they are called but yeah sharks so that was cool, next ran into an octopus who was just settling into a rock out there, pretty big one too. Then saw about 4

king or jack fish i thought they were tuna as they had a rather sleak body but i was informed later that they weren't. There was also lots of jellyfish around that i had to swim through which was a little concerning, but they didnt say anything about them on the boat so i didnt worry to much i also had a stinger suit on so didnt feel a thing, more worried about my hands and forehead but it was all good.

Lots of other cool fish down there, blue tangs, puffers, maybe black tangs, groupers, morish idols, so overall a great game out there would definately do it again, though maybe a dive as you can see alot more, aparently they saw a monster of a shark a little further out but i wasnt aloud to venture like they could due to currents and waves.

The following day i began my trek up to brisbane or brisvegas as everyone calls it and we did a little zorbing on our way, zorbing for those who dont know is where you crawl into this big ball that has in inner membrane with a little water and then go rolling down a hill in it. I had to get in with 2 other dudes and well we laughed endlessly to the bottom, you really cant see much and its just a mess of bodies on the inside of the damn thing but good fun and best of all it was free. the hill was a little small for my liking, but was good stuff. At the end you pop out of the whole and it litterally looks like childbirth as you pop out and there is water all over the place etc. ok ive never seen child birth first hand but its what i somewhat imagine it would be like.

sorry bout that one folks forgot to rotate soooo turn your heads top to the right and youlll get the gist of it

That evening i went out drinking with an english bloke who was leaving today for singapore and we got absolutely drunk really not to sure why it started off pretty tame and halfway through he reallized his calendar on his phone was the wrong month and was worried about what the date was and if he had missed his flight and then realized he hadnt confirmed his flight so he was a little worried and when he called the agency at like midnight they knew he was drunk and they had a good chat and apparently confirming flights is generally just to keep mothers happy.

thats me on my way out

And with all luck im shortly gonna call up Andrew Kilmer and spend a few days with him before he heads back to ole Canada which should be a few days of pure magic

Well i think thats all for now, bye for now and

Stay precious

Nice day for it

Well Kiddies, its been a little bit and for that i appologize, just havent had the desire to write lately, so make your voices heard and post something on here when you take a peak it makes my day and makes me feel like im writting for a reason.

Ok well lets see, After flying back to Sydney from Melbourne, I again met up with my good friend Pippa and her brother and some of there friends for Homebake, A concert that only involves bands from australia and nz, some of the various bands which showed up that i can recall off the top of my head were silverchair, the vines, eskimo joe and then there was about 30 others i never heard of before. I only managed to hit up two of the 4 stages but it was one good shindig, about 55000 people crammed into a park with 4 stages and lots and lots of beer. The weather on this day however was pretty intense, we got litterally poured on about 4 or 5 times, and lightning going off left right and center. One such time me and Jackson this little oriental friend of Pippas bro went on a beer run when yes you guessed it it started to pour, so we decided that we would stock up and buy 2 rounds or as much as we could so we walked out with 4 beers each, and started to look for everyone we were with. We couldnt find them, and its pouring cats and dogs at this point so we headed for the trees where we could atleast set the cans down and consume atleast some of the sweet nectar. After waiting there for a bit we decide to head out and look again as we have one free hand that we can drink with. We didnt find them until our third beer was almost done and ended up only giving them 1 beer each but it was damn funny they were precisly where we had left them they were just in ponchos so we didnt recognise them. So yeah the day was filled with good music good people and good times.

The Following day i went to the sydney zoo with pips brother and his gf, we saw all sorts of stuff, but by far the chimps were the best as they were doing some rediculous things, and there was one definate shit disturber in the group who would go around hittting all the others with sticks, i had a good laugh at that little guy.
2 days later i started out on my Oz experience trip along the eastern coast from sydney up to cairns. The first day we headed to a sort of old gold mining area, along a river which was basically just an old farm house that had a hot tub and some activities such as horseback riding, mountian biking, kayaking, and repelling. I ended up doing the night kyaking which takes us over level 2 and 3 rapids in pretty much pitch blackness, and im not much of a kayaker so a few of these i was going down backwards which was pretty interesting. It was so dark that while paddling, you cant see rocks until you run into them so its just follow the leader we had light sets but you couldnt make out anything.
They also have this cricket series going on, the ashes, its a yearly december thing where they compete against the motherland for a tittle over abuout 5 weeks of 5 day games. So far i think Australia is up, im not to sure how the whole thing works but England brought it to a draw in the last round. So they have screens set up all around town in parks for everyone to watch this one is located in sydney by the convention centre where i watched a round or two.
We then headed up to Surf camp where you guessed it we learned to surf, The first night we got in about 3 hours where i basically just body boarded as i couldnt figure out the proper way to get on the damn thing, basically just tossing my feet up and hoping for the best. However the next morning we were up and at it by 8 am the weather was peachy and it was a whole new ball game. The waves werent nearly as big today and were few and far between so you had to pick and choose which was going to be your game maker. But they were clean waves so they werent going to kick your ass, so you had lots of time to get up on the board and ride them in. I ended up riding about 10 waves for a good while before falling off so was pretty cool really feel good when you can finally stand up on those things.

We then headed off that afternoon to head up to byron bay, a place renound for backpackers and parties, so after 2 nights ive been intoxicated twice, the first night, ended up with a wet tshirt contest, yes thats two so far this trip, and this one had a little better genetics then the last thank heavens. And last night we ended up playing this drinking game that if someone drops a coin in your drink you have to skull it, well let me tell you im not great at this game and ended up skulling about 8 beer in a matter of like freakin 45 minutes (yes mom i know thats alot) (dad you should be proud). So yeah last night was a little dicey and i ducked out early but lets see you drink them and last the rest of the night huh.. Soooo back to the wet t shirt contest. A girl off our bus decided that the 300 bucks to win was incentive enough and she had the guarentee that we were gonna make sure she won so she was up there along with 9 other 18 year olds. Well im gonna say this flat out she had no way of winning this thing the way some of these girls rocked it up there, she had probably the classiest wet t shirt contest i have seen, and i know ive only seen one other but it was classy and without us she probably wouldnt have even gotten a cheer but her name resonated outta that place and there she was walkin out with 300 cold hard cash.

I walked out to the lighthouse in town here and its the mainlands most eastern portion so that was kinda cool, its also the best land observaqtion post for whales on the planet as it is out in the middle of there migration and well out into the waters. Though its to late to be seeing them this time of year you could see turtles swimming along the cliffs and maybe a few rays as well, i will go back and get pictures tommorow.

Cheers and as always
Stay Precious

Bob
